**The product.** An iPhone, iPad and Android app. The user takes a photo of a food label or scans a barcode, and the app lists hidden sugars, seed oils, additives, FODMAPs, allergens and ultra-processed ingredients, then gives the product a score from 0 to 100 for the goals and diets that the user chose. The app is free to install, but the analysis results need a subscription.

**Why it worked.** It turns a label that most shoppers cannot read into one personal number, for diets that a general calorie app does not cover: low FODMAP, seed-oil-free, gluten-free, vegan. The store page says that analysis needs a subscription, so every active user pays. Verified revenue reached US$23,122 in its best month, February 2026, and US$178,939 in total, read from the app's billing account.

Evidence grades: A = disclosed by a public company, a filing or a payment processor, or verified by one; B = two or more independent reports agree, or a journalist confirmed it; C = a founder claim that no one else verified; D = reported, not verified: one founder claim or a third-party estimate with no second source; calc = computed on this page from graded facts.

## Summary

Goodie AI is a phone app that reads food labels for the user. You take a photo of the ingredient list or the nutrition table, and the app answers with what it found: hidden sugars, seed oils, additives, FODMAPs (short-chain carbohydrates that some people with irritable bowel syndrome avoid), allergens and ultra-processed ingredients. Each product gets a score from 0 to 100 for the goals the user set, such as "Vegan? Gluten-free? Low FODMAP?", in the words of the App Store page. Reading a photographed label and judging it against a person's goals is the work of a multimodal model, a large language model that accepts images as well as text; the store page says the app is "Powered by frontier AI models" and does not name them. The app is free to install with in-app purchases, payments made inside the app and collected by Apple or Google, from US$4.99 a week to US$69.99 a year.

The seller is Fantera Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales on 15 July 2024, whose only director is Dmytro Chupryna. The listing site whatsthe.app names "Dimitri Chupryna" as the founder and gives 9 March 2025 as the worldwide release date. The company's first accounts, to 31 July 2025, give an average of no employees, including directors. TrustMRR, a service that reads revenue through the seller's own billing account, shows US$12,786 in November 2025, a best month of US$23,122 in February 2026, US$16,019 in August 2026, and a fall to US$10,437 in September. By 27 October 2026 the total was US$178,939, and the monthly recurring revenue (MRR, the monthly value of all active subscriptions) was US$12,197 from 3,846 subscriptions. The app was listed for sale on TrustMRR at US$100,000.

The revenue figures are grade A: TrustMRR and whatsthe.app both read them through an API key from RevenueCat, the subscription-management service that records the app's store purchases, and their readings agree. The company facts are from the UK company register, grade B. The team size after July 2025, the marketing channels and the funding status come from the founder's own profile text, grade C. The page also shows earlier companies that sold personal nutrition advice or phone scanning, and why they failed.

## Pricing

Goodie AI in-app purchases in October 2026, from the US App Store page (grade C); monthly equivalents calculated on this page

| Plan | Per month, billed yearly (US$) | Per month, billed monthly (US$) | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 | 0 | install only; analysis results require a subscription |
| Weekly Pro | | 21.62 | US$4.99 a week; monthly figure calculated |
| Monthly Pro | | 9.99 | also sold as a Monthly (Promotion) at the same price |
| Quarterly Pro | | 10.00 | US$29.99 every three months; monthly figure calculated |
| Yearly Pro | 3.33 to 5.83 | | US$39.99, US$49.99 or US$69.99 a year; monthly figures calculated |
| Yearly Discounted | 2.50 | | US$29.99 a year; monthly figure calculated |
| Unlimited | | | US$34.99; the period is not stated |

The App Store page says: "ANALYSIS RESULTS REQUIRE A SUBSCRIPTION." It lists ten purchases, among them three yearly prices (US$39.99, US$49.99 and US$69.99), a monthly promotion and a purchase called Unlimited at US$34.99 whose period is not stated. The page does not say which price a given user sees; apps often test several prices at once. Apple or Google collects the money, and the TrustMRR profile does not say whether its figures are before or after the store commission.

How to read this table: a grade A value was read by TrustMRR or whatsthe.app from the app's RevenueCat account through an API key. A grade B value is a record in the UK company register. A grade C value is what the founder, the company or a store page states. A "calc" value was computed on this page from the rows above it.

## When did Goodie AI launch, and how did it grow? Timeline

From a company formed in July 2024 to US$178,939 of verified revenue from one food-scanner app, 19 months after its release. Each entry carries its grade.

## Why did Goodie AI work?

### A label becomes one personal number

Food labels list ingredients in small print and in technical names. Goodie reads the photo and answers with a score from 0 to 100 for the goals the user picked, for example low FODMAP, vegan or no seed oils. The App Store page calls it "100X MORE PERSONALISED": the same product can get a different score for two users.

### The model does the expert work

A label reader used to need a hand-built database of products and ingredients, and it failed on any product that was not in it. A multimodal model reads any label from a photo, in many languages; the store page claims support for "150+ countries and languages". The seller does not name the model it uses.

### Pay before the first result

The App Store page says that analysis results require a subscription, so the free download is only a trial of the interface. The MRR per subscription, about US$3.17 a month, shows that most subscribers chose a yearly plan. Ten different purchases are listed, which suggests that the seller tests prices.

### Paid and social channels

The founder-written part of the TrustMRR profile lists TikTok, Meta Ads and Instagram as marketing channels. No source gives the advertising spend or says which channel brought most customers, so this page leaves the channel unknown. Monthly revenue moved between US$8,003 and US$23,122 within one year.

## How it was built

Few build details are public. These come from the store pages, the TrustMRR profile and the UK company register.

- Apps for iPhone, iPad and Android; the App Store page also lists Mac (Apple chip) and Apple Vision support.
- A multimodal AI model reads the photo; the store page says only "Powered by frontier AI models".
- RevenueCat records the subscriptions from both stores, and TrustMRR and whatsthe.app read the revenue from it through an API key. It is the only item in the profile's tech-stack list.
- Apple's and Google's in-app purchases collect the money, so the company never holds card details.
- The App Store privacy labels say that identifiers may be used to track the user across other companies' apps, and that photos, name and email address are collected and linked to the user.
- One company, Fantera Technologies Ltd, publishes Goodie AI next to two other apps, Unmute and Kikimojo, and earlier ran a creator-booking web app called Fantera.

## Who tried this before Goodie AI, and why did they fail?

Four companies in the Loot Drop database sold personal nutrition advice, health tracking or scanning with a phone before a model could read any label from a photo. The values below are from that database and are not independently verified.

The failed startups come from Loot Drop (https://www.loot-drop.io/), a free database of dead startups, retold here in our own words; Loot Drop describes its entries as AI-assisted summaries of public sources, so they carry no evidence grade.

### Nutrigene (2018 to 2021; funding US$3M; cause: Unit Economics)

- Promise: Custom liquid supplements based on a customer's DNA, lifestyle and health goals.
- Why it died: The database summary says customer acquisition was expensive, a personal physical product was hard to scale, and simpler competitors such as Care/of won the broad market.
- Record: https://www.loot-drop.io/startup/1010-nutrigene

### Refolo (2017 to 2021; funding US$2M; cause: No Market Need)

- Promise: Personal meal plans and recipes for people moving to a plant-based diet.
- Why it died: The database summary says too few people would pay for meal plans when free recipes were everywhere, and larger wellness apps added the same features.
- Record: https://www.loot-drop.io/startup/1994-refolo

### Airo Health (2016 to 2019; funding US$4M; cause: Competition)

- Promise: A wearable that tracked stress, nutrition intake and exercise and gave real-time advice.
- Why it died: The database summary says Apple and Fitbit advanced faster, the device could not justify its price, and hardware logistics and a lack of new funding ended it.
- Record: https://www.loot-drop.io/startup/1465-airo-health

### SnipSnap (2012 to 2019; funding US$6.1M; cause: Competition)

- Promise: Scan a paper coupon with the phone camera, then save and redeem it on the phone.
- Why it died: The database summary says it could not keep retailer partnerships or make money from its users, while RetailMeNot and Honey offered more than coupon storage.
- Record: https://www.loot-drop.io/startup/560-snipsnap

## What changed

Nutrigene and Airo Health tried to give personal nutrition advice through a physical product, a supplement or a wearable, and both needed millions of dollars before the first customer. Refolo sold the advice as software, but its meal plans had to be written by people, and free recipes competed with them. SnipSnap shows the other half of the problem: a phone camera could read a coupon in 2012, but the app still needed partners to make the result useful.

A multimodal model removes the database and the human writers. It reads any label in any language and judges it against a goal the user typed, so a company with no employees in its first accounting period could ship the product. The model is paid per use and the stores collect the money. What did not change is the cost of finding customers: the founder lists paid and social channels, and the monthly revenue moved up and down by more than half within a year.

## Can one person copy Goodie AI now?

**Verdict: The product, yes. Steady revenue, not shown.**

A label-scanner app is a small project with a phone framework, a multimodal model and a subscription service, and the App Store's own suggestions on Goodie's page list several similar food scanners. Goodie's verified revenue shows that one such app can take more than US$20,000 in a month, and also that the last 30 days brought 48.7% less than the 30 days before. The seller has listed the app for sale.

1. Pick diets that a general calorie counter does not handle well, such as low FODMAP or allergen-free, and make them the first screen.
2. Give one clear answer, a score with the reasons, instead of a table of nutrients.
3. Use a subscription service such as RevenueCat from the first day; it also makes verified revenue possible later.
4. Write the health limits into the store listing, as the Google Play page does: information, not medical advice.

**What is still open.** A version for one medical diet, built with dietitians and with clear sources for each rule, is still open. So is a version for shopping online, which an App Store reviewer asked for in November 2025.

## What could go wrong for Goodie AI?

- **Team size not published.** The UK company register lists one director, Dmytro Chupryna, and the first accounts give no employees, including directors, for 15 July 2024 to 31 July 2025. No source gives a headcount after that, and contractors are not counted in such accounts. Aiolum publishes a story with grade A revenue and no published headcount when no source suggests more than 10 people, as here.
- **Revenue is falling.** The last 30 days brought US$5,768, 48.7% less than the 30 days before, and September 2026 was 54.9% below February 2026. The app was listed for sale on 11 September 2026. A buyer would take over the app, the store accounts and the subscriptions, but not necessarily the founder's advertising skill.
- **Health and wellness claims.** The App Store page promises goal-based scores for "Skin glow, mood, gym gains, eco impact" and flags "medical conflicts", and the release notes say the app helps with goals such as "lose weight" and "improve gut health". The Google Play page adds: "It does not offer medical advice or diagnosis. Always consult a healthcare professional for health-related decisions." The App Store page has no such sentence. The main product reads labels; it does not promise a health effect itself.
- **Free to install, not free to use.** The App Store shows the app as "Free · In-App Purchases", and the description says "ANALYSIS RESULTS REQUIRE A SUBSCRIPTION." A reviewer wrote on 18 August 2025: "its not free, you need a membership". The developer replied with an offer of one year of free access.
- **The owner's other product.** The App Store page links Goodie's privacy policy to fantera.app. A copy of that site saved on 11 July 2026 shows the company's earlier product, the Fantera creator-booking web app, with the claim "You could be making $4,000 monthly on Fantera" for a creator with 40,000 followers. Aiolum treats a claim about what users earn as an income promise. Goodie's own pages do not sell or link to that web app, apart from the shared privacy-policy domain, and on 27 October 2026 fantera.app answered only "DEPLOYMENT_PAUSED". The seller also publishes Unmute - AI Speaking Coach and Kikimojo.
- **Numbers that do not line up.** The asking price is US$100,000 on TrustMRR and US$250,000 on whatsthe.app. TrustMRR gives "Funding: Bootstrapped", while the company register shows a floating charge in favour of Braavo Capital, Inc. from 27 August 2026. The company's first balance sheet shows net liabilities of £5,136 at 31 July 2025, after about five months of app sales; the accounts do not show revenue.
