**The product.** A website where the user describes a calculation in plain English, for example "Get the sum of A:C rows", and gets back a formula to paste into Excel or Google Sheets. The pricing page also lists a formula explainer and generators for Google Apps Script, VBA macros, SQL-like queries and regular expressions. Each generation uses one credit; plans are sold by the month from US$1.99 or as one-time lifetime plans from US$69.99.

**Why it worked.** It was online in August 2022, months before ChatGPT made chat with language models common, so it was early to a simple and frequent need: remembering spreadsheet formula syntax. The same need is now served free by general chat assistants, and Sheeter's Stripe revenue has fallen every month for a year.

Evidence grades: A = disclosed by a public company, a filing or a payment processor, or verified by one; B = two or more independent reports agree, or a journalist confirmed it; C = a founder claim that no one else verified; D = reported, not verified: one founder claim or a third-party estimate with no second source; calc = computed on this page from graded facts.

## Summary

Sheeter.ai turns a sentence into a spreadsheet formula, the expression that starts with "=" in a cell of Excel or Google Sheets and calculates a value from other cells, such as =SUM(E10:E50). The user types what they want, and a language model writes the formula. The About page says the founders used "OpenAI’s advanced GPT-4 algorithms" while building it. The same page names two founders from India, Sunny Bundel, a full-stack developer, and Sunny Kumar, a blogger and digital marketer; the footer calls them "a team of Excel experts" and gives an address in New Delhi.

The Internet Archive first saved the site on 31 August 2022, and the TrustMRR profile gives 24 August 2022 as the founding date. TrustMRR reads the payment records of the business from Stripe, its card payment processor, through an API key. On 31 October 2026 those records showed US$17,173 of revenue since the start. Only US$1,188 of it came in the last twelve months, so about US$15,985 was paid before November 2025, in months that the public profile does not show. Since then revenue has fallen almost every month, from US$138 in November 2025 to US$64.67 in the last 30 days.

The headline of this page is the all-time total, grade A, because it is the only figure above this site's floor of US$10,000; it is not a description of the business today. The monthly recurring revenue (MRR, what the active subscriptions bring in each month) was US$134 from 34 subscriptions. The business has been listed for sale on TrustMRR at US$5,000 since 11 February 2026, and the site still sells lifetime plans. The page also shows four failed companies that tried to make spreadsheets easier and lost to Microsoft and Google.

## Pricing

Sheeter.ai list prices from the code of its pricing page, read 31 October 2026 (grade C). The prices are set by a script, so the plain page text shows only some of them

| Plan | Per month, billed yearly (US$) | Per month, billed monthly (US$) | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | | 1.99 | 50 credits a month |
| Bronze | | 9.99 | 100 credits |
| Silver | | 19.99 | 250 credits |
| Gold | | 29.99 | 1,000 credits |
| Diamond | | 49.99 | unlimited credits |
| Basic lifetime | | 69.99 one-time | same credits, no renewal |
| Bronze to Diamond lifetime | | 149, 249, 449 or 699 one-time | same credits as the monthly plan |

One credit is one generated formula. The page script also shows a lower "discounted" price beside each list price: half the list price for monthly plans, 60% of it for the Basic, Bronze and Silver lifetime plans and 40% for the Gold and Diamond lifetime plans; comments in the script mention Black Friday. Visitors from India see prices in rupees. The pricing page says there is no free trial and offers a 14-day refund; the terms of 16 January 2024 call it "partial refundable". In March 2023 the Basic plan cost US$0.99 a month.

## How much revenue does Sheeter.ai make? The numbers, graded

A formula generator with US$17,173 of Stripe-verified revenue since August 2022, 93% of it before November 2025, and US$64.67 in the last 30 days

| Fact | Value | Grade | Note | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Verified revenue, all time to 31 October 2026 | US$17,173 | A | Stripe records through TrustMRR, revenue last synced 31 October 2026. | [1] |
| Verified revenue, last 12 months | US$1,188 | A | Stripe records through TrustMRR. The twelve monthly rows add up to US$1,185, which agrees after rounding. | [1] |
| Revenue before November 2025 | about US$15,985, 93% of the total | calc | Calculated: US$17,173 minus US$1,188. The public profile does not show these months, so it is not known when this money came in or how it was split over the 38 months from August 2022 to October 2025. | [1] |
| Verified revenue, last 30 days to 31 October 2026 | US$64.67 | A | Stripe records through TrustMRR, -5.8% against the 30 days before. The daily table shows payments of US$0.99 to US$11.98 on 21 of the 30 days. | [1] |
| Monthly revenue, November 2025 to October 2026 | US$138, 133, 123, 107, 102, 95.53, 93.54, 89.56, 89.56, 80.61, 68.65 and 64.67 | A | The monthly table of the TrustMRR profile. Each month is lower than or equal to the one before. | [1] |
| Fall from November 2025 to October 2026 | 53% | calc | Calculated: US$64.67 against US$138. This is why the trend on this page is "falling". | [1] |
| Monthly recurring revenue, 31 October 2026 | US$134 | A | Stripe records through TrustMRR, -1.5% in the last 30 days. It is higher than the revenue of the last 30 days; the profile does not explain the gap. | [1] |
| Active subscriptions, 31 October 2026 | 34 | A | Stripe records through TrustMRR. Average: about US$3.94 a month each (calculated: US$134 divided by 34), close to the cheapest plans. | [1] |
| Profit margin, last 30 days | 95.0% | C | A snapshot on the TrustMRR profile; the costs behind it are entered by the owner. | [1] |
| Asking price on TrustMRR | US$5,000, first listed 11 February 2026 | C | Set by the seller. TrustMRR shows a revenue multiple of 6.4x and 7 offers received. | [1] |
| Founders | Sunny Bundel and Sunny Kumar | C | About page: "Sheeter.ai was founded in 2022 by two Excel automation experts, Sunny Bundel and Sunny Kumar". TrustMRR lists Sunny Bundel as founder. | [3, 1] |
| Team | headcount not published | C | The footer says "a team of Excel experts" and the About page says "we’ve hired individuals with vast knowledge of Excel and automation", without numbers. No source suggests more than 10 people. | [2, 3] |
| First archived page | 31 August 2022 | C | Internet Archive copy of sheeter.ai with the formula box and "Use Sheeter.ai to quickly and easily generate complex excel formulas". TrustMRR gives 24 August 2022 as the founding date. | [6, 1] |
| Time from launch to the headline date | 50 months | calc | Calculated: August 2022 to October 2026. | [6, 1] |
| AI provider | OpenAI, GPT-4 | C | About page: "OpenAI’s advanced GPT-4 algorithms have helped a lot". No source says which model runs the tool today. | [3] |
| Payment methods | Stripe for cards; the terms also mention PayPal | C | Privacy policy: "Credits/debit card details through Stripe". Terms: "your credit card or PayPal account will be charged automatically". TrustMRR reads only Stripe, so any PayPal payments are not in the verified figures. | [5, 4] |
| Users | "thousands of satisfied users" on the About page; TrustMRR estimate 0 | C | Neither count is verified. | [3, 1] |
| Outside funding | none reported | C | No source mentions investors or a funding round. | [1, 3] |

How to read this table: a grade A value comes from Stripe payment records, read through the TrustMRR profile on 31 October 2026 (revenue last synced the same day). A grade C value is a statement by the company on its own pages, by the seller on the TrustMRR listing, or by the founder on his TrustMRR profile. A "calc" value was computed on this page from the rows that it cites.

## When did Sheeter.ai launch, and how did it grow? Timeline

From a formula box online in August 2022 to a sale listing at US$5,000 in February 2026, with US$17,173 of revenue in 50 months. Each entry carries its grade.

- **24 August 2022** (grade C [1]): The founding date given on the TrustMRR profile.
- **31 August 2022** (grade C [6]): First Internet Archive copy of sheeter.ai: a box to type a request and get an Excel formula, with example formulas and a pricing link.
- **27 March 2023** (grade C [7]): Archived pricing page: monthly plans from US$0.99 for 50 credits to a Diamond plan at US$49.99 with unlimited credits.
- **16 January 2024** (grade C [4, 5]): Terms of service and privacy policy updated; they name PayPal and Stripe.
- **November 2025** (grade A [1]): US$138 of Stripe revenue, the first and best month in the profile's twelve-month table. About US$15,985 had been paid before this month.
- **11 February 2026** (grade C [1]): First listed for sale on TrustMRR, at US$5,000.
- **October 2026** (grade A [1]): US$64.67 of revenue in the last 30 days, MRR of US$134 and 34 active subscriptions on 31 October; US$17,173 since the start.
- **31 October 2026** (grade C [2, 8]): The site still sells monthly plans and lifetime plans from US$69.99.

## Why did Sheeter.ai work?

### One narrow, frequent need

Spreadsheet users often know what they want to calculate but not the formula name or its argument order. Sheeter answers exactly that question and nothing else, and its home page examples are everyday requests: sums of two ranges, days between two dates, filtering cells that contain a word.

### Early timing

The site was online by 31 August 2022, before chat assistants made this kind of question easy to ask anywhere. Being early to a simple search like "excel formula generator" is the most likely reason for the US$15,985 paid before November 2025, but no source states the channel.

### Credits and lifetime plans

Each generated formula uses one credit, and plans differ only in the number of credits. Lifetime plans bring cash up front without renewals; the pricing page still shows them with a discount from a Black Friday campaign.

### Very low running costs

The owner enters a profit margin of 95.0% on TrustMRR. One formula is a short request to a language model, so costs stay small even when revenue is small.

## How it was built

These details come from the TrustMRR profile, the company's About page, its policies and the code of its pages. Profile and company statements are grade C.

- A PHP back end with HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and Sass on the front end, according to the tech stack on the TrustMRR profile.
- Formula generation by a language model; the About page says OpenAI's GPT-4 helped while building it.
- Card payments through Stripe; the terms also mention PayPal.
- Google Analytics, loaded through the Google tag on every page.
- The pricing page loads a pixel from fomo.sheeter.ai, a subdomain whose name suggests a social-proof notification script; on 31 October 2026 that host did not resolve.
- An add-on is mentioned on the home page for getting the formula "with just one click"; no store listing was checked.

## Who tried this before Sheeter.ai, and why did they fail?

Four companies in our database of failed startups tried to make spreadsheets easier or more powerful, and failed. The values below are from that database and are not independently verified.

The failed startups come from our database of dead startups, retold here in our own words; Its entries are AI-assisted summaries of public sources, so they carry no evidence grade.

### Fieldbook (2014 to 2019; funding US$1.7M; cause: Competition)

- Promise: Spreadsheets with database features, without learning SQL.
- Why it died: Excel and Google Sheets added the missing features faster than users could be persuaded to move.
- Record:

### Skysheet (2009 to 2012; funding US$200K; cause: Competition)

- Promise: A cloud spreadsheet with real-time collaboration and charts.
- Why it died: Google and Microsoft moved their own spreadsheets to the cloud with better tools.
- Record:

### DataNitro (2012 to 2015; funding US$120K; cause: Competition)

- Promise: Run Python scripts inside Excel for data analysis.
- Why it died: Stronger competitors, and later Excel's own Python support, did the same job.
- Record:

### SumAll (2011 to 2019; funding US$15M; cause: Competition)

- Promise: One data dashboard for small businesses, without a data scientist.
- Why it died: Large analytics companies and free tools offered the same, and its dashboard could not justify its price.
- Record:

## What changed

Fieldbook, Skysheet and DataNitro all tried to add power to spreadsheets, and Microsoft and Google added the same features to the products people already used. Sheeter did not build a spreadsheet at all: it sold only the missing knowledge, the right formula, and a language model produced that knowledge cheaply enough for a plan at US$0.99 a month in 2023. That is why two founders could launch it in 2022 without investors.

The predecessors' risk then came back in a new form. General chat assistants and the AI features inside Excel and Google Sheets now answer the same question, and Sheeter's revenue fell from US$138 in November 2025 to US$64.67 in the last 30 days. Other formula and spreadsheet tools on this site show the range: Formula Bot reported a run rate of US$500,000 a year in May 2025 (grade C), SheetAI US$52,000 in total by October 2026 (grade A) and ElyxAI US$2,800 a month in recurring revenue in October 2026 (grade A); SheetAI and ElyxAI also show falling revenue in their latest figures.

## Can one person copy Sheeter.ai now?

**Verdict: The product is easy to copy; the timing is not.**

A formula generator is a text box, a prompt and a payment page, and one developer can build it in days. Sheeter shows both sides: early entry earned about US$16,000 before November 2025, and a feature that general AI assistants now give away for free leaves little to sell.

1. Pick one narrow question that many people search for, here the syntax of a spreadsheet formula.
2. Answer it with a language model on one page, with examples of real requests on the home page.
3. Charge per use with credits, and add lifetime plans to collect cash up front.
4. Watch for the moment large platforms add the same answer for free, and plan the next product or a sale before revenue falls.

**What is still open.** Narrow tools where the answer must be checked against the user's own data, which a general chat assistant cannot see, such as tools that read a workbook and fix its broken formulas.

## What could go wrong for Sheeter.ai?

- **The headline is old money.** US$17,173 is the total since August 2022, and about US$15,985 of it was paid before November 2025, in months the public profile does not show. Revenue in the last 30 days was US$64.67, below this site's monthly floor of US$1,000; the story qualifies only on the total floor of US$10,000. TrustMRR reads only Stripe, so PayPal payments, which the terms mention, are not counted.
- **For sale while still selling lifetime plans.** The business has been listed on TrustMRR at US$5,000 since 11 February 2026, while the pricing page still sells lifetime plans from US$69.99. A buyer would take on the duty to serve those lifetime customers; the pages do not say what happens to lifetime plans after a sale.
- **Marketing claims.** The home page calls Sheeter.ai "the most advanced excel formula generator on the market" and "more reliable and focused than any other formula generator on the market"; the same sentences were already on the page in August 2022. The About page claims "thousands of satisfied users", while TrustMRR estimates 0 users and shows 34 active subscriptions.
- **A social-proof script that could not be checked.** The pricing page loads a script from fomo.sheeter.ai. Such scripts usually show pop-up notices of recent sign-ups or purchases. The host did not resolve on 31 October 2026, so we could not see what it shows or whether its notices were real.
- **Check every formula.** A generated formula can look right and still be wrong. Users should test each formula on their own data.
- **Link to another product.** The footer links to a "LinkedIn Carousel Generator" on carousify.com. No downloaded source says who owns that site, and this page does not judge it.
