Docusign

An electronic signature service: a business sends contracts and other documents online, the other parties sign them in a browser or app, and every step is recorded.

What Docusign is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Docusign eSignature is an electronic signature service made by Docusign, Inc. An electronic signature is a person's agreement to a document, given and recorded online instead of on paper. eSignature is one product of Docusign's Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform, an AI-assisted platform for preparing, signing and managing agreements.

A sender uploads a document, places signature and form fields on it, and sends it as an envelope (a package of documents for signature) to one or more signers. Signers sign in a browser or in the mobile app, in more than 44 languages; reminders go out automatically, and a real-time audit trail records each step. AI detects the agreement type, suggests fields, and gives signers a summary and answers to questions. Templates, web forms, payment collection during signing, bulk sending and more than 1,000 integrations, for example with Salesforce, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, extend it, and developers can use its APIs.

eSignature is a subscription billed per user, with a limit on envelopes in each plan; a free trial is available.
