Stripe Atlas

A company formation service from Stripe: founders anywhere apply online to incorporate a Delaware C corporation or LLC, get a US tax ID and issue founder shares.

What Stripe Atlas is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Stripe Atlas is a service from Stripe for starting a US company. It forms a Delaware C corporation, a limited liability company (LLC) or a subsidiary. Founders apply online from almost anywhere in the world; Atlas checks that the company name is available and files the formation documents in Delaware, usually within one business day.

After incorporation, Atlas gets the company tax ID (EIN, the US Employer Identification Number), issues founder shares and files each founder's 83(b) election, a US tax filing that lets a founder be taxed on shares at their value when issued instead of when they vest. Its legal templates are made with the law firm Cooley LLP. The new company can accept payments, keep money in a Stripe Treasury account and raise funds with SAFEs (Simple Agreements for Future Equity) created in the Stripe Dashboard. Atlas also provides the registered agent service that Delaware requires a company to keep.

It is a hosted service with a one-time setup fee and then a yearly registered agent fee. Atlas states that it is not a law firm and does not give legal or tax advice.
